2009.03.19 Cornell bioenergy researchers to use 8,000 tons of campus organic waste - Biofuels Digest

In New York, the Cornell University Renewable Bioenergy Initiative announced a plan to utilize 8,000 tons of organic campus waste as feedstock for biofuel production using slow pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion and other advanced renewable energy technologies. The university has secured a grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to assess the sustainability of the technologies and the utility of by-products including methane, BioOil and biochar.
